Downers
Grove
Museum

Background

Downers Grove Museum charts the history of the town of Downers Grove in Illinois. The museum was established in 1972 and includes several historical buildings, yet has never had a brand of its own.

Buildings on the campus include the Victorian home of the Blodgett family, the Pioneer home of the Blodgett family, a barn with a 1921 firetruck and a garden with a gazebo.

Objective

To improve awareness pf the museum and increase participation in museum programs, an adaptive identity system was developed.

The system, inspired by national museums, was created to showcase the different buildings and program offerings provided by the museum. As well as a logo, a series of line art illustrations were created.

The new identity was rolled out in early 2016.
